SV Life Sciences is a venture capital adviser and manager that makes selected investments in entrepreneurs and management teams.
SV Life Sciences provides finance to businesses at all stages of development and across the human life sciences sector. These sectors range from biotechnology & pharmaceuticals to medical devices & instruments, to healthcare information technology and services. SV Life Sciences currently advises or manages five funds with capital of approximately $1.6 billion which primarily invest amounts of between $1m and $20m in North America and Europe, but will consider innovative investments in other regions. Kate Bingham, Managing Partner
Kate Bingham joined SVLS in 1991. Kate currently serves or has served
on the boards of companies in the UK, US, Ireland, Sweden and Germany. She
has been responsible for past investments in Alantos, Auxilium, ESBATech,
Hexagen, Kinetix, KuDOS, Leukosite, Mednova, Micromet, PowderMed and current
investments including Bicycle, EUSA and RespiVert.
Prior to joining SVLS, Kate worked in business development for Vertex Pharmaceuticals,
a biotechnology company in Cambridge, MA and at Monitor Company, a strategy consulting
firm.
Kate has a first class degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and graduated
from Harvard Business School with an MBA.

Nick Coleman, ACA - Finance Partner, Europe
Nick Coleman joined SVLS in 2001, focuses on providing the London based team
with deal support and also contributes to the group finance teams work on the
four SVLS funds and International Biotechnology Trust plc.
From 1999 to 2001, Nick worked as Financial Controller at Advent Venture Partners.
Prior to this he spent six years at KPMG in London, where he worked initially
in audit for a variety of financial sector clients, ranging from Lloyds insurance
syndicates and vehicles to life insurers and offshore investment funds. Later
he transferred to the Transaction Services Group where his main focus was on
due diligence for a variety of venture capital and corporate clients.
Nick is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BA from University College London.

David Pinniger, CFA - IBT Investment Manager
David joined SVLS in April 2008 as IBT Investment Manager.
Prior to SVLS, David spent three years working at Abingworth where he contributed
to the management of a $400m quoted biotechnology portfolio and four years
as a sell-side analyst with Morgan Stanley.
David has a first class degree in Human Sciences from Oxford University,
holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member
of the CFA Society of the UK.

Ailsa Craig, IBT Investment Manager
Ailsa joined SVLS in November 2006 as IBT Investment Analyst and became an Investment
Manager in 2008, where she is part of the public markets focused team.
Previously, Ailsa worked at Baring Asset Management for two years as a
research analyst, covering pharmaceutical and biotechnology stocks. Prior
to this, Ailsa worked for Insight Investment / Rothschild Asset Management
(merged 2003) as the Global Healthcare Analyst. She is part of the public
markets focused team.
Ailsa has a BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of Manchester. She
was awarded the IMC in 2002 and the Securities Institute Diploma in 2007.
